Watercolor cover of a child exploring among friendly stars

Stella's Star Journey

Stella's Star Journey is a complete sample adventure you can open before you make a book of your own. It shows how a photo-based character stays the same child on a cover, a cockpit scene, a quiet moon picnic, and a homecoming hug — the thing parents notice first when they compare AI storybooks.

What this sample is (and is not)

This page is a public example. It is not a private book from a real family, and it is not hidden behind /book/ or /b/. Those paths stay private so a child's unpublished gift is not indexed. Sample stories live here under /examples so you can judge likeness, page rhythm, and art style without creating an account.

The character on the cover is a synthetic example child. Use it to see watercolor lighting, how a helmet still shows hair and face, and how a ten-page story can stay gentle instead of turning into a science lecture.

The story in brief

Stella wants to visit the quietest star in the sky. She packs a small backpack, waves from the garden, and rides a round ship that looks more like a lantern than a fighter. On the way she meets a shy comet, shares crackers on a pale moon, and learns that the “quiet star” was waiting for a friend who would listen.

Each spread is one beat: leaving home, lifting off, a problem, a kindness, a return. That is the same skeleton the generator uses for birthday, bedtime, and first-day stories. The difference when you make your own book is the face, the name, and the details you type in — a stuffed fox, a yellow raincoat, a grandma who waves from the porch.

Why character consistency is the demo

Open this example looking for one thing: does the child on page nine still look like the child on the cover? Hair color, skin tone, and the shape of the eyes should survive a helmet, a night sky, and a different camera angle. That lock is what a personalized children's book with photos is for. A name stamped on a generic cartoon is not the same gift.

When you create a book, you approve a character sheet before the pages are painted. Later pages reuse that sheet. If one scene drifts, you can regenerate that page instead of paying to redraw the whole story at checkout.

How to turn this sample into your child's book

Start from Create, upload a photo or describe hair, eyes, clothes, and skin tone, then pick a space prompt or write your own. Choose watercolor if you want a gift that looks close to this sample, or try cartoon, crayon, collage, or fairytale. Preview the ten inner pages online. Unlock the HD PDF with credits when the face and the wording feel right.

Photos are used only to illustrate the character, are not sold, and are not used to train general-purpose models. We aim to delete source photos within 30 days after they are no longer needed.

What to inspect on the space pages

Look at the helmet visor: you should still read the same eyes. Look at the moon picnic: hands and skin tone should match the cover. Look at the homecoming hug: hair should not change color under porch light. That inspection is the whole reason this sample is public.

If you make your own space book, steal the pacing — leave, fly, help, return — and swap in your child's real backpack or stuffed toy. Do not copy Stella's face. Stella is a synthetic example, not a customer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I read the full Stella sample without signing in?

Yes. Public examples on /examples are meant to be opened before you create an account. Private family books stay on /book/ and /b/ and are not listed here.

Will my child look like Stella?

No. Stella is a sample hero. Your book uses your photo or description so the illustrated child matches your family, then keeps that look on every page.

Is a space story OK for a younger toddler?

For ages 1–3, pick the toddler age band so sentences stay short. You can still use a gentle space prompt; the generator will keep the scenes calmer.

Can I print this sample?

Samples are for reading online. When you make your own book, you can unlock an HD PDF and request a quoted softcover or hardcover.
